Clos Cibonne Cuvée Tradition Rosé 2016
This is a truly unique rosé wine.
Clos Cibonne is in the Cote de Provence appilation but that is where the similarity to the usual Cote de Provence rosé wines end. What makes this wine so special is the grape. Tiboruren is a provencal grape that is hard to grow and is rarely used any more. But at Clos Cibonne, it is the main grape for their rosé and red wines.
The Cuvée Tradition is also different in that this rosé is, after fermentation, aged on the lees under fleurette for one year in 100 year-old foudres. Most unusual for a rosé wine. This means the current vintage is 2016. These wines are year after year rated 90+ by all. If you never thought you would spend $30.00 on a rosé then you have never had Clos Cibonne Cuvée Tradition.
