Cuvelier Los Andes Colección 2014
2014 vintage – 52% Malbec, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 9% Syrah, 4% Petit Verdot. Specialists in French “Grand Crus” production, the Cuvelier family owns Château Léoville-Poyferré and Château Le Crock in the Bordeaux region of France since 1903. Seduced by the quality of wines in the Mendoza region, Bertrand and Jean-Guy Cuvelier planted a vineyard right below the Andes Cordillera. 65 hectare, 1000 meters above sea level. Grapes were picked by hand, aged in French oak barrels for 12 months and remains unfined and unfiltered. The quality of these wines, produced from young wines, is well beyond the Cuvelier’s original hopes. Will the Argentine cousins rival in the future with the fine wines of Bordeaux? It is for the consumers to decide. Time will tell.
