This very impressive ruby colored Gamay from the Chenas commune opens with a pottery soil and black cherry bouquet with hints of cinnamon. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth and juicy. The flavor profile is stewed black plum and loam blend with notes of black cherry, dried strawberry, and chalky minerality. I also detected some hints of cinnamon and raspberry tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors and moderate tannins linger and last for a while. This is another winning 2020 vintage cru level Beaujolais wine!
