Joseph Drouhin Côte de Beaune Villages is made with grapes from some of the municipalities of Côte de Beaune. The plots have clay and limestone soils. The vines are pruned in Guyot style and there is a planting density of 10,000 plants per hectare. Their average yields are approximately 46 hectolitres per hectare.

The grapes fore Joseph Drouhin Côte de Beaune Villages macerate and vinify for a period of 2 to 3 weeks. Fermentation takes place with native yeasts at a controlled temperature. To extract color and tannins from the grape, a "pigeage" is performed daily during the first half of the fermentation, causing the cap of skins in the tank to sink, and a "pump-over" a day during the whole process. Lastly, the wine ages in French oak barrels for 12 to 15 months.

Joseph Drouhin Côte de Beaune Villages is a wine that is pleasant and easy to drink. It is a very good introduction to Burgundy red wines.
