Pierre Cotton Regnié Les Buillats 2017
There are a select few young “debutants” who have begun paving the way for Beaujolais’ future. One is without question, the young Pierre Cotton. Pierre’s family have been producing wine on their property in Côte de Brouilly since 1856 under the estate Domaine Sanvers et Cotton. In 2014, after acquiring one hectare from his family, Pierre began building towards his own domaine situated within his family’s property in Odenas. Pierre officially became his family’s fifth vigneron after the release of his first cuvée millesime 2014 “100% Cotton.” The following year, Pierre was able to acquire two of his family’s hectares in Brouilly and has recently purchased one hectare in Regnié.
Regnié achieved Cru status in 1988 and is located between Morgon and Brouilly. Production is quite small with only 8 cases shipped to South Carolina. Easily one of the finest Beaujolais I've ever had. Also available in Magnum!
