Vincent Paris Crozes Hermitage 2017
A native of the Cornas appellation, Vincent Paris inherited most of his vines from his grandfather and leases other blocks from an uncle for a total of about 8 hectares. Paris has built upon his family's winemaking tradition to make a name for himself as a talented winemaker in the region through carefully managing vineyard yields, fermenting longer and at cooler temperatures and using mostly neutral oak. The Crozes-Hermitage comes from fruit selected by Vincent from a long-time organic grower in Crozes. In multiple parcels, varied exposure, the vines average 30 years of age. Soils are alluvial with "galet roulets" (rolling rocks) that attract warmth.
A great Syrah from the Northern Rhone that over-delivers for a Crozes.
