What Kind of Wine Drinker Are You?

What Kind of Wine Drinker Are You?

I just read an article in The New York Times that talks about the state of the wine industry in the US. The author, Eric Asimov, has written about food and wine for over 20 years. He divides wine consumers into two very different groups: "On one extreme is the largest body of wine buyers. They are not interested in how it's produced, where it comes from, vintages or aesthetics. They mostly want an inexpensive alcohol delivery system that tastes good......On the other extreme is the smaller group, people who love wine and care deeply about all the geeky pleasures it offers. Like everybody else, they are sensitive to economic fluctuations. They may adjust their spending, but they continue to buy wine regularly and spend more per bottle than less-committed consumers."

The second group are my folks! I use a tag line that Palmetto Wine is for the "wine serious and wine curious". The wine serious folks have a solid knowledge of wine and walk into a wine store or read a restaurant wine list without fear. The wine curious want to enjoy a better quality of wine than what they have been drinking from the grocery store but not sure where to go.

Palmetto Wine Sellers is here for both groups so regardless of where you fit, you will be happy with your experience here.

Cheers! Rocky Menge
