Thanks to everyone who came to the Loire Valley wine tasting. We tasted six great wines and I think folks are starting to learn the value of both red and white wines from this region of France.
Now let’s talk about the next tasting here at the office. On Wednesday March 21st, we will have Kaitlin Ohlinger with Advintage Distributing lead a tasting of New World Pinot Noir. That’s right…. not a burgundy to be found. Here is the line-up:
- Fable Wines, Russian River Valley Pinot Meunier Dommen Vineyard 2016
- Huia Pinot Noir 2013
- Failla, Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2016
- Bethel Heights, Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir Estate 2015
- Hirsch Vineyards, Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir San Andreas Fault 2014
We are throwing in a pinot meunier for grins and chuckles and also reached out to New Zealand. We will offer these wine for sale with a 10% discount for six bottles or twelve bottles or even a mixed case purchase. The cost is $10.00 a person which can be applied to purchases of six or more bottles. The event will be held in our tasting room at 2218 Devine St and seating is limited. To get a proper head count we urge you to pre-register by clicking this link.
Also, mark your calendars for Tuesday, April 10th when Jordan Fisher from Country Vintner will join us to offer a tasting of wines from Italy’s Piedmont region. More on that down the road.
We still remind you to put April 22nd on your calendar for our first annual Rosé Soirée, an open house tasting of 15 rosé wines just in time to stock up for the summer.----
On a different note, Cricket Newman owner of Cricket Newman Designs is having a Tablescapes Class next Thursday, March 15th here are the details:
“Spring and Easter tablescapes class will cover everything from fresh cut flowers to potted centerpieces and a spring wine tasting by The Wine Guy!”
That’s right ladies, we will be there to show wines that should go well with your Easter dinner and priced right for a large family gathering.
To sign up for the event email: firstname.lastname@example.org or call 803.834.7992
As the dogwoods start to bloom and there is pollen on my car, I’m adding to the selection of rosé wines. I now have the pink stuff from three regions of France; also, Italy, Spain and the good ole USA (Oregon pinot) so keep checking the website.
Please don’t think you have to wait for one of our tastings to come by the office. We have done four private tastings in the last week to assist clients planning cocktail and dinner parties as well as others just needing to restock.
We have the only tasting room in town so come enjoy a private tasting and experience a new way to buy wine. Call us at 803.714.3320.
