The 2018 Chateau d'Arsac 'Le Kid d'Arsac' Margaux is the second wine from this historic chateau and we all loved the modern label that is a playful riff on a child's drawing of the chateau. Owner Philippe Raoux has been called the "Free-spirited kid of Margaux" hence the name. This wine is 72% Cabernet Sauvignon and 28% Merlot that was grown on the signature Margaux soils which are a sandy-gravelly clay mixture that is well drained yet holds enough moisture to make Cabernet thrive.
A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, it is medium to full bodied, quite elegant and refined, and it's about the cheapest way to get good Margaux in your glass. Offering up lovely notes of red and black currant, tobacco, graphite, and spice box, it's a classic Bordeaux. Highly recommended!
