Lagrein is a red wine grape variety native to the valleys of South Tyrol, northern Italy.
Lagrein doesn't get enough attention so I was glad to be able to taste this wine. Garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose has a nice touch of black cherries. Medium to full bodied. Medium tannins. Good acidity. Lots of depth. Long finish. This is nice on its own but better with food. A great winter red.
