A hidden gem for Barolo lovers! Grown on dramatic mountain terraces, this elegant Nebbiolo delivers vibrant cherry, raspberry, rose petal, and alpine herb aromas with silky tannins and lively acidity. Think Barolo with a lighter touch—beautifully balanced, food-friendly, and full of character.

This wine is 100% Nebbiolo from the Valtellina Valley in Lombardy close to the Swiss border. The vineyards are on extremely steep terraced slopes on the Rhaetian Alps. Wine making here is know as "heroic viticulture" because everything (planting, pruning and harvesting must be done by hand on stone terraces. 

Sassella is often described as the best of the four sub-zones under Valtellina Superiore DOCG and takes it name from the many stones (sassi) in the wine fields that act as thermal mass at night, much to the benefit of the grapes. 

Perfect with: Mushroom risotto, roast chicken, pork tenderloin, duck, lamb, and aged cheeses.
