Viña Gravonia 2017 is made from 100% Viura and aged approximately:
- 4 years in old American oak barrels
- Then additional bottle aging before release
That’s substantially longer than standard Rioja Crianza requirements. The wine is released already showing mature character while still having the ability to age another 10–20 years.
So the experience is often:
“A cross between aged white Burgundy and dry Sherry, but uniquely Rioja.”
It’s also a very food-driven wine — incredible with:
- roast chicken
- mushrooms
- grilled seafood
- Manchego
- richer fish dishes
- Iberian cuisine
