Clos Mogador, Nelin Priorat Blanco 2021

Nelín is a white wine produced by the winery Clos Mogador in the D.O Priorat.

Nelín is produced from the combination of 50% Grenache Blanc, the other 50% a mixture of Viognier, Pinot Noir (vinified as a white), Roussanne, Marsanne, Macabeo, Pedro Ximénez & Escanya Vella come from vines that range from 10 to 30 years of age.

The harvest is by hand, in small 10kg capacity containers. The grapes are picked in the first few hours of the morning because of lower temperatures to keep the grapes from oxidising.

Once at the winery, 90% of the grape is pressed and the free run juice is separated. The rest of the grape is macerated for 12 hours before being pressed. Nelín is fermented with local yeast from the same vineyards in oak vats and oak barrels. The fermentation process is controlled at 16-18ºC lasting for 4-5 weeks.
The ageing process lasts for 18 months in large 1200 litre wooden containers and 600 litre stainless steel tanks.
