Morellino di Scansano is an Italian red wine made in the hilly environs of the village of Scansano in the Maremma region of coastal Tuscany. Morellino is the local name for the Sangiovese grape variety. Granted DOCG status in 2007, the wine must be at least 85% Sangiovese. The Riserva is aged for two years after harvest with at least one year in wood. This wine is 90% Sangiovese and 5% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
